The results stem from a maiden eight-hole diamond drilling program, beneath a 1.3 kilometre corridor of historical workings at Mascotte.
In March, the company’s first hole delivered 40 metres at 1 gram per tonne (g/t) gold from 151m, including a richer 9m zone grading 2.7g/t.
Legacy Minerals (ASX:LGM) has now reported assays from the remaining seven holes, confirming continuity of mineralisation from the discovery hole.
New results returned grades as high as 9.7g/t gold within wide zones of mineralisation.
One hole struck 57m at 0.3g/t gold from 81m, including 8m at 1.3g/t from 129m.
Another hole pierced 1m at 9.7g/t gold from 167m.
The drilling also reinforced the prospect’s potential for high-grade base metal and silver mineralisation, with a rich 1m intercept grading 18.7% lead, 8.7% zinc and 43g/t silver.
Management says the results confirm a coherent gold-silver epithermal mineralised system, remaining open along strike in two directions and at depth.
The intercepts sit outside the existing 1.2 million ounce gold equivalent resource base at Mt Carrington, made up of several gold-silver-copper-lead-zinc deposits.
“The receipt of final assays from our maiden diamond drilling at Mascotte has confirmed what the first hole suggested: we have made a new gold-silver discovery,” said Legacy Minerals CEO Christopher Byrne.
“The breadth and grade of these results are highly encouraging.”
Byrne said further intercepts showed the gold and polymetallic potential of the system.
These included 3 metres at 3.3g/t gold (with 1 metre at 9.7g/t) in hole MSDD007 and 8 metres at 1.3g/t in MSDD002.
Hole MSDD003 also showed high-grade lead-zinc-silver breccia.
Last week, Legacy unleashed the rig for a 4000 metre drilling program, targeting new copper-gold discoveries at the Emu prospect at Mt Carrington.
The campaign takes in eight diamond holes and marks the first modern drilling of the interpreted porphyry-epithermal target area.
The drilling will test two distinct features defined by recent geophysics, with each hole extending up to 500m depth.
The campaign is designed to test Emu’s copper potential, with the prospect close to the largest historical producing copper mine in the Mt Carrington district (Emu Creek).
Beyond the drilling at Emu, Legacy will integrate the drill results from Mascotte with geological, geochemical and geophysical data to refine future drill targets.
Planned upcoming activities include ground geophysics over the Mascotte trend and a follow-up drill program focused on the higher-grade gold and base-metal and silver zones.
In parallel, the company is advancing approvals and site preparation activities across the Mt Carrington, White Rock and Emu prospects.
The company expects drilling across the broader project tenure to continue for several months.
