The latest ultrafine soil sampling by Nimy Resources (ASX:NIM) returned elevated gold across the full 950m length of the northernmost line of its Corporate James East prospect.
All 20 samples returned at least 9.6 parts per billion gold, averaging 14ppb and peaking at 21.3ppb. Seventeen consecutive samples returned at least 10ppb over 800m.
The gold response also runs to the eastern edge of the sampling grid, where the final sample returned 10.9ppb. That leaves the anomaly open for follow-up work to establish its full extent.
The program comprised 59 samples collected at 50m intervals along three east-west lines spaced 400m apart, extending the existing Corporate James South grid eastward.
Corporate James East sits about 500m east of Corporate James South on the eastern margin of the Mons Greenstone Belt.
Its northern gold anomaly straddles an interpreted contact between greenstone and granite, continuing east into the granite terrain. The same contact setting hosts the Corporate James and Corporate James South anomalies, which lie 3.6km apart.
That repeated geological association supports Nimy’s interpretation that the three anomalies could reflect a coherent mineralised gold system within the broader ~16km Corporate James trend.
“The new Corporate James East anomaly is clearly strong and coherent,” said Nimy managing director Luke Hampson.
“Importantly, it sits across the same granite-greenstone contact that appears to control Corporate James and Corporate James South, indicating a coherent mineralised gold system.”
Nimy’s June work had already added Corporate James South to the original prospect, widening the search along the trend.
The latest results add an eastern target area, giving the company another part of the contact zone to assess when choosing its first drill sites.
The gold program forms part of a broader exploration effort at Mons, about 140km north-northwest of Southern Cross. Nimy also outlined gold and base metal corridors across the separate Masson-Thompson area in August, adding to the project’s target pipeline.
At Corporate James East, follow-up soil sampling is being planned to find the eastern limit of the anomaly and test whether it continues north and south.
The current 400m spacing between sampling lines leaves intervening ground untested. Further work will help define the anomalous footprint and assess its continuity before drill targets are finalised.
Nimy will assess those results alongside Corporate James and Corporate James South to finalise its maiden drilling program along the trend. The company has made drilling at Corporate James its immediate gold exploration priority.
