The results included 43m at 0.98% nickel from 512m and 9m at 2.2% nickel from 599m, “with excellent potential for further growth below the current resource”.

The resource at the Jaguar project stands at 108 million tonnes grading 0.87% nickel for 938,500t of contained nickel.

This “is one of the largest nickel sulphide resources held by an ASX-listed company and the largest outside of the majors”, Centaurus said.

Another estimate is planned later this year.

Centaurus has six diamond rigs and one RC unit operating at its project, with the latter to test greenfields targets.

Centaurus had cash at the end of December of A$34 million.
