The project’s new strike length measures approximately 1,100 metres, with tight-drill spacing providing high confidence in the continuity of the mineralisation throughout the Main Zone.
Drilling was conducted in the second half of 2023 for a total of 16,753m.
The results include key intercepts which extend known mineralisation in the Main Zone and delineate the newly-identified Lower Zone.
Infill results will also support a category upgrade as part of future resource work.
Standout assays were 18.35m at 1.46% lithium oxide from 160.65m and an additional Lower Zone intercept of 8.05m at 1.21% lithium oxide from 325.35m, 11.55m at 1.06% lithium oxide from 5.6m, 11m at 1.13% lithium oxide from 7.35m and 7.4m at 1.25% lithium oxide from 125m.
Shallower intercepts are believed to validate Critical’s interpretation of the pegmatite trends in and around the Main Zone.
They are likely to have an immediate and positive impact on mining studies and initial pit design.
All results will be incorporated into resource modelling work to underpin a future mineral resource upgrade.
Managing director Alex Cheeseman was pleased with the drilling campaign outcome at Mavis Lake.
“We have […] successfully infilled the resource, adding both tonnage and confidence in the consistency of mineralisation, plus identified a new lower zone of mineralisation,” he said.
“All of this sets us up very well for a future resource upgrade.”
“We are very confident we can continue to grow the Mavis Lake resource and we look forward to taking further steps to advance the project in 2024.”
Mr Cheeseman said results were also pending from work-streams completed across the Mavis Lake northern prospects aimed at developing high-confidence future drill targets.
The prospects provide an immediate opportunity to further expand the scale of Critical’s inventory across the broader Mavis Lake project area.
