Wyloo, parent company Tattarang and Forrest have been buying Mincor shares on-market between late May and last Thursday.

The group has spent A$36.7 million on 27.4 million shares.

The purchases have increased the group’s stake from 15% to 18.68%.

“We’re proud to continue our relationship through our increased shareholding in Mincor Resources,” Wyloo said via LinkedIn.

Mincor recently reported the first full quarter of production from its restarted Kambalda operations.

Nickel in concentrate production was 928 tonnes from the delivery of 57,241t of ore at 1.88% nickel to BHP’s Kambalda concentrator.

Stoping at Cassini is scheduled to begin in the current quarter.

Guidance for the 2023 financial year has been set at 8000-10,000t of nickel in concentrate.

At the company’s annual general meeting on Friday, Mincor chairman Brett Lambert said FY22 had been challenging but a year of milestones.

Aside from returning to production, another of those milestones was the maiden reserve of 12,500t of nickel for the Golden Mile, just 16 months after its discovery.

“The 12,500t of contained nickel in the initial LN04a reserve represents around one year of additional mine life,” Lambert said.

“It is very pleasing to have achieved this so early and it reminds me of the very last words of my 2020 chairman’s address, which were – ‘I see the five-year plan mapped out in the DFS as just the beginning’.

“I say now that I am very confident there is much more to come.”

Former managing director David Southam left the company in August.

Former OZ Minerals senior executive Gabrielle Iwanow will take over as managing director next Monday.

“Gabrielle is one of the most impressive people I have met, and just as David was the right person for the time when we set out to re-establish Mincor as a producer, Gabrielle’s extensive operational, technical and corporate experience ideally equips her to lead the company as we ramp up our Kambalda assets to achieve full operational performance,” Lambert said.

Late last month, Iwanow spent two days on site at Kambalda to meet the team.
