James Bay Minerals (ASX:JBY) founder and major shareholder Matthew Hayes has been appointed executive director, with Andrew Dornan transitioning to executive chair.

Hayes, who has over 17 years of experience in corporate development, M&A and capital markets, was also a founding director of Sun Silver (ASX: SS1) and led its IPO.

“I’m thrilled to step into the role of Executive Director and lead the Company forward as we advance the Independence Gold Project towards its full potential as a Tier-1 deposit,” he said.

“Our priority is resource expansion and delivering greater value to shareholders.

“I look forward to working closely with Andrew and the team to drive exceptional results.”

The company has also appointed experienced geologist Jay Ward as exploration manager.

Ward has previously worked with Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) on the Karlawinda project and Strickland Metals (ASX:STK), where he played a key role in expanding the Millrose gold deposit, leading to its $61 million sale to Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST).

Keith Wood, former chief growth geologist at Nevada Gold Mines, joins JBY as a strategic advisor.

Wood brings more than 15 years of experience and expertise in developing growth strategies and executing exploration programs in Nevada.
