The campaign comprised six holes for 3,200 metres to test for mineralisation, structure, lithology and depth to basement rocks.

Data provided gives the company a first look at the depth of an area previously overlooked at the district-scale project which sits north of Southern Cross.

Assays from the first two holes have been received at the lab with results expected next week.

Hole 4 and Hole 5 are in the assay process with results due in the next month.

Final core samples from Hole 3 and Hole 6 have been transported to Kalgoorlie to be logged and processed for assay.

Nimy said assay results had drifted beyond initial completion dates due to laboratory delays compounded by large volumes submitted over the past six months.

Executive Director Luke Hampson said the company was pleased with initial drilling at Mons.

“This campaign was our first diamond program and one of the first within the region,” he said.

“A re-interpretation of an earlier MLEM (moving loop electro-magnetic) program has enhanced our understanding of the project’s targets and we will test those during planning of our next drilling program.”

Nimy was recently accepted as a member of the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) and the European Battery Alliance (EBA250).

The groups aim to increase Europe’s economic resilience by diversifying its supply chains and attracting investments to the raw materials value chain.

The battery alliance includes more than 750 global organisations from public and private sectors covering the entire value chain.

Mr Hampson said membership of ERMA and EBA provides Nimy with an opportunity to collaborate with European end-users seeking sustainable, reliable and secure access to quality raw materials and battery-grade products.

“The European Union is a major importer of nickel and nickel-sulphide for use in electric vehicle batteries, hydrogen electrolysers, steel and other products,” he said.

“We have identified Europe as a key strategic market for customers, stakeholders and investors [and this] membership will assist in facilitating, developing and strengthening these relationships.”
